Run with partner flying schools. Selection starts with an online aptitude and psychometric assessment, followed by a group task and a meeting with the airline's panel.
A computer-based test of reasoning, speed, memory, multitasking and coordination, with a personality questionnaire.
A group exercise assessed by airline panellists: communication, teamwork and decision making.
Training providers report a personal interview with the panel before the letter of intent.
10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English is the usual requirement, plus a DGCA Class 1 medical before flight training. Check the current notice for exact marks and age limits.
“Official” stages come from the sources above. “Reported” stages come from training providers and past candidates and may differ from the current process. Checked October 2026. FlyAptitude is not affiliated with IndiGo or its partners.
The multitasking flight is one of the most talked-about parts of the online assessment.
Mental arithmetic and speed–distance–time under time pressure.
Reading, grammar and vocabulary questions are reported in the cognitive part.
Pattern and odd-one-out questions.
Rotation, reflection and direction questions that disappear after a few seconds.
Fast matching and dial reading, where reaction time is recorded.
Short-term memory items shown briefly, then hidden.
Hand–eye control of a drifting ball.
Practise answering a long questionnaire honestly and consistently.
Some candidates report maths and physics questions; worth revising.
As above: refresh 10+2 physics, especially pressure, motion and electricity.
Prepare for the group task and the panel.
